Jinchuan Group Ltd is located in Jinchang, an industrial city, and in the eastside of the Hexi Corridor in Gansu Province,  China. The terrain of the mine is flat, and the altitude is between 1,500 and 1,800 meters above sea level. The climate in Jinchang is typical of temperate zone and continental climate. The city lies 22 kilometers north of Lanxin Railway, which is a section of Europe-Asia Continental Bridge. Jinchuan Group Ltd enjoys very convenient railway and road transportation facilities with its railways of the production area connected to the Lanxin Railway.

         Jinchuan nickel mine was discovered in 1958,  and it is one of the most famous large multi-metal associated nickel and copper sulphide deposits in the world. The ore bodies mainly scatter over an area of 6.5 kilometers long by 500 meters wide along the foot of Mountain Longshou. The proven ore reserves are 520 million tons, in which nickel reserves are 5.5 million tons,  which are ranked the third largest deposit of its kind in the world, and copper reserves are 3.43 million tons, the second largest in China.  The results of geologic exploration of recent years have shown that there exists a good prospect of new ore-bodies exploitation at deep,  edge and periphery areas of Jinchuan nickel deposit. Jinchuan minerals are associated with valuable elements including cobalt, gold, silver, platinum, palladium, osmium, iridium, ruthenium, rhodium, selenium, tellurium. sulfur, chromium, iron, gallium, indium, germanium, thallium, cadmium and so on,  14 kinds of which can be extracted,  There are rarely such huge and concentrative deposits  containing so many valuable metals both at home and abroad.
