¡ô In October 1958, Yongchang Nickel Mine was discovered.
¡ô In June 1959, the National Ministry of Metallurgy decided to set up
Yongchang Nickel Mine.
¡ô In January 1961, the name of Yongchang Nickel Mine was changed to
Jinchuan Non-ferrous Metals Corporation (JNMC).
¡ô In September 1964, the first batch of electrolytic nickel was
produced out, and the output was 22.43 tons of the year.
¡ôIn April 1965, platinum group metals were extracted successfully,
and 8.4763 kilos of platinum and palladium was produced out in
the same year.
¡ô In March 1966, Deng Xiaoping, Vice Premier of State Council,
visited Jinchuan, other leaders from the Chinese Central Government.
¡ô In March 1978, JNMC was listed as one of the three bases for
comprehensive utilization of mineral resources in China at the
national science conference. In August, Mr. Fangyi, vice premier
of the State Council, visited Jinchuan for the first time. By
the year of 1986, he had visited Jinchuan for eight times and
had organized to tackle many key problems jointly of science and
technology for Jinchuan.
¡ô In 1983, the output of electrolytic nickel exceeded 10,000 tons for
the first time, and then 15,000 tons in 1984, 20,000 tons in
1985, JNMC succeeded in realizing the aim of ¡°three years, three
steps¡±.
¡ô In August 1992, Mr. Jiang Zemin, General Secretary of the Central
Committee of the Communist Party of China and State President,
visited Jinchuan and left an inscription of ¡°the Rapidly
Developing Nickel City ¡±.
¡ô In May 1993, the biggest Nickel Flash Smelting System in Asia was
built and put into operation by Jinchuan Group Ltd.
¡ô In April 1995, the main product of JNMC, Grade 1 electrolytic
nickel with the trademark of Golden Camel was listed at LME.
¡ô In 1995, the Second Phase Expanding Project of JNMC was completed
and fully put into operation, and its full capacity was
completed till year 2000.
¡ô On April, 2000, the Agreement on Transferring Liabilities of JNMC
to Equity Capital was signed, and the corporate restructuring
program was started at the same time.
¡ô In December 2000, the administration authority of JNMC was handed
over from the State Government to the Gansu Provincial
Government.
¡ô In September 2001, Jinchuan Group Limited was formally established,
consisting of four investing groups, in which the People's
Government of Gansu Province and Chinese State Development Bank
are the major shareholders.
¡ô The nickel output is48,000 tons and copper output is near 50,000
tons in 2001.
¡ô The nickel output is 52, 000 tons and copper output is 70,000
tons in 2002.
¡ô The nickel output is 60,500 tons and copper output is 103,000
tons in 2003.
¡ô The nickel output is 70,500 tons and copper output is 131,000
tons in 2004.
